We are receiving updates from many, if not all of our vendors regarding shortages and price increases. We want to be transparent about this information and what it means to our customers.
The demand for common Green Industry raw material remains at an all-time high, which is increasing product costs. Manufacturers, like most industries, are facing labor shortages and wage increases. Freight shortages and pricing is continuing to increase lead times and cost for hardscape products and plant material.
Continued shortages and price inflation on the most frequently purchased products in the landscaping industry are expected to continue to rise. Plant materials such as upright evergreens, hawthorns, loropetalums, hollies, ligustrums, skip laurels, Japanese maples, and other items will remain in short supply for several years.
We are expecting to see several additional price increases this year. We have received several notices of discontinued or delays for many hardscape products.
While we will have to pass along some of the price increase to our customers, we are working hard to stay competitive. First, we are reaching out to all our vendors to secure materials early. Next, we are arranging to purchase in bulk to get the best prices possible.
